Mapping Services

Hunter Geophysics provides archaeological excavation and cemetery mapping services using a variety of equipment.

We provide digitized site-level or excavation-level maps, suitable for use in final reports.

Our mapping service can create digital maps for cemeteries; Hunter Geophysics runs training courses to teach cemetery administrators how to use mapping software (known in the industry as ‘GIS’) to keep their digital maps up-to-date.

We use state-of-the-art real-time kinematic GPS or a robotic total station to achieve centimetre-grade precision mapping.

We also use the new Gatewing X100 unmanned aerial system (a robotic aircraft) to perform large-scale topography and aerial photography surveys.

We use robotic total stations and RTK GPS units capable of mapping things to within a centimetre... or better.
We use robotic total stations and RTK GPS units capable of mapping things to within a centimetre… or better. Here, we’re using a robotic total station to map a car park and surrounding buildings before we locate and map pipes and power cables beneath the car park.
